Exabotix develops advanced UAV systems and ground infrastructure for autonomous flight operations. At the DLR National Test Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems in Cochstedt and at our development site in Bad Lauterberg, we are working on fully autonomous solutions for takeoff, landing, and power supply – the so-called DRONEPORT – as well as on the development of our own UAV systems. Our technologies are used particularly in the area of critical infrastructure, where they make a significant contribution to safety and aerial surveillance.
Become part of our team and help shape the regulatory framework for the safe and scalable operation of our UAV systems – from creating technical documentation and communicating with authorities to developing new operating concepts for autonomous drone systems.
Your tasks:
• Creation and maintenance of regulatory documentation for UAV systems (e.g. SORA, OSO certificates, flight manuals, ConOps)
• Preparation and support for operating permits in the Specific Category (SAIL II / SAIL III)
• Preparation of technical evidence to demonstrate compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g. C2-Link, safety analyses, system descriptions)
• Coordination with authorities and institutions (e.g. LBA, EASA) within the framework of approval processes
• Supporting the development department in implementing regulatory requirements in system design
• Further development of internal processes and documentation structures for certification and compliance
• Assisting in the planning and execution of tests to validate regulatory requirements
Your profile:
• Experience in UAV operation, aviation regulation, certification, or technical documentation
• Understanding of complex technical systems and their safety requirements
• Experience with structured work and the creation of technical documentation
• Desirable: Knowledge of SORA, EU drone regulations, OSO certifications, or aviation-specific approval processes
• Technical understanding of UAV systems (avionics, communication, autopilot, etc.) is an advantage.
• Very good German and good English skills, both spoken and written
We offer:
• Collaboration on an innovative UAV system for the autonomous operation of critical infrastructure
• An exciting field of work at the interface between technology, regulation and aviation
• Development work in a young, highly motivated team with plenty of creative freedom
• Insights into flight testing, system development and real-world UAV deployments
• Flexible working hours and a modern working environment
• Long-term perspective in the growth field of unmanned aerial systems
• Possibility of partial mobile working depending on the area of responsibility and project phase
