SWIFT VTOL
Long distances, vertical takeoff.
The hybrid aerial drone for large-scale long-range inspections – quiet, efficient, and fully automated in the Exabotix system.
Advantages of SWIFT VTOL
The SWIFT VTOL is a vertical take-off and landing fixed-wing system that combines the advantages of a multicopter with the efficiency of a fixed-wing aircraft.
It is particularly suitable for long-distance flights over pipelines, railway lines, solar parks, and large industrial sites – wherever large distances need to be covered efficiently and automatically. Thanks to its vertical takeoff and landing capability, the SWIFT requires no runway and can operate directly from the droneport. With a range of up to 120 km and a flight time of 90 minutes, it sets new standards for autonomous inspection flights.
Efficient on long haul routes
Thanks to its wing structure, the SWIFT flies particularly energy-efficiently – ideal for extended routes or areas.
VTOL technology
Takes off and lands vertically like a multicopter – can be used flexibly, even in narrow or impassable areas.
Robust & ready for use
Wind-resistant, IP54-certified, and equipped with an integrated parachute system – for reliable use under demanding conditions.
Areas of application
The SWIFT VTOL is designed for large-scale inspection flights. Thanks to its long range and long flight time, it is ideal for operations along pipelines, railway lines, solar and wind farms, and extensive utility grids. Wherever large distances need to be overflown quickly and regularly, it demonstrates its strengths – precise, efficient, and automatable.
pipelines
Wide-area visual inspections of above-ground pipelines for early detection of damage or vegetation risks.
Railway & transport routes
Autonomous route flights to monitor routes, bridges or tunnel areas – efficiently and regularly.
Solar & wind farms
Aerial condition monitoring of large plant areas – time-saving and precise.
Supply infrastructure
Large-scale network inspections along power, water, or data lines – especially in difficult-to-access areas.

Frequently Asked Questions Questions to SWIFT VTOL.
How large is the operational area of the SWIFT VTOL?
With a range of up to 120 km, the SWIFT VTOL covers a very wide area of operation – ideal for long-distance inspections along pipelines, railway lines, or power lines. The long flight time of up to 90 minutes allows significantly more data to be collected than with conventional multicopters – with significantly fewer takeoffs and interruptions.
Does SWIFT require a runway?
No. The SWIFT VTOL takes off and lands vertically in place – like a multicopter. This makes it particularly versatile, even in rough terrain or confined operating zones. In combination with the DRONEPORT, the takeoff and landing process is fully automated.
Is the SWIFT weatherproof?
Yes. The housing is designed to IP54 protection class and protects the drone from dust and splashes of water.
It flies reliably in wind speeds of up to 14 m/s and also has an integrated parachute system that deploys automatically in an emergency – for maximum safety on every flight.
Which sensors are possible?
The SWIFT VTOL is designed for lightweight payloads up to 500 g. It supports high-resolution cameras such as the Sony ILX-LR1, making it ideal for visual documentation and vegetation analysis.
