Mechatronics / System Integration Engineer (m/f/d)

Exabotix develops modern UAV systems and ground infrastructure for autonomous flight operations. At the DLR National Test Center for Unmanned Aerial Systems in Cochstedt, near Magdeburg, we are working on fully autonomous solutions for takeoff, landing, and power supply – the so-called DRONEPORT – as well as on the development of our own UAV systems. Our technologies are used primarily in the field of critical infrastructure, where they make an important contribution to security and aerial surveillance. The work location is on the DLR premises at Cochstedt Airfield. With us, you will design systems that function without human intervention and support their implementation through to practical testing.

Your tasks:

• Mechanical and electrical integration of drone components and subsystems
• Construction, wiring and testing of prototypes (drone and ground station)
• Support in the development of energy-autonomous landing and charging systems
• Carrying out functional tests, commissioning and system validation
• Participation in flight tests and practical trials at the test site
• Close cooperation with other departments

Your profile:

• Completed studies or training in the field of mechatronics, electrical engineering or mechanical engineering
• Experience in system integration, cabling and commissioning of mechatronic systems
• Knowledge of sensors, power supplies and embedded hardware
• Understanding of UAV technology and flight control systems desirable
• Willingness to actively participate in flight tests and field trials
